A message from Nicky Spence, the Scottish Tenor

www.nickyspence.com / www.scotsinlondon.com

Dear Scots in London (SIL) (3,000+ dynamic, passionate Scots and growing fast),

Nicky Spence, the Scottish Tenor, is set to be a worldwide star! Despite having no formal singing training until his late teens this young Scotsman has struck the musical big time, signing a major label recording contract to Universal Classics & Jazz. In his teens he worked in a Fish & Chip shop to pay for those very first singing lessons - this commitment to singing paid off when he was offered a place at London's prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama as their youngest singer in 2000.

"From Fish and Chips to the Classical Brits!" Nicky has now sung at many prestigious venues in the UK including with the beautiful Katherine Jenkins at the Royal Albert Hall, Bryn Terfel and has just given a world-premiere performance at the Classical Brits!

Enamoured by music and entertaining from a young age, Nicky's path to a record deal has been one of excellence. Born in Dumfriesshire in 1983, Nicky won his first competition at the age of 14 (the Dumfries and Galloway Young Musician of the Year Award), and hasn't looked back since. Nicky's debut solo CD, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, includes Scottish favourites such as 'The Skye Boat Song' and 'My Love is Like a Red Red Rose', 'Silent Worship' & the beautiful french song 'A Chloris'.

You can watch Nicky Spence perform on the Classical Brits this Sunday 14th May 2006 on ITV1 at 11pm. To be the first to find out more information about this rising young star register at www.nickyspence.com and you'll receive updates about new releases, preferential ticket purchase opportunities, personal appearances, exclusive competitions, music downloads and videos, plus if you are the 100th person to sign up to Nicky's site, NS's team will send you a goody bag of ten top selling Classical CDs including Katherine Jenkins, Nicola Benedetti (fellow Scot) and Bryn Terfel!
