Dear Scots in London (SIL) (3,000+ dynamic, passionate Scots and growing fast),

The World's Oldest Gaelic Choir isn't in Scotland ... but London! The London Gaelic Choir is celebrating its 115th birthday in 2006 with a programme of events in London. Please join the celebrations (Ed: shut your eyes and be spellbound by enchanted voices!)...

Fresh from their performance at Scots in London's Tartan Day celebrations *, The London Gaelic Choir will again be performing for the public in central London at a ceilidh organised by the Choir on Saturday 13th May 2006, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. (*"The choir were magic", quote from LA Tartan Army member)

Details: Come and enjoy the traditional music of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland's own language, an ancient tongue that survives to this day. All are welcome - no Gaelic required! In addition to music and song from the Choir, there'll be individual performances by soloists, bagpiping and dancing to the music of the "Kirk Session" ceilidh band. Add into the mix a licensed bar, good company and "craic", and you have an authentic Scottish evening in the heart of London - no excuse not to come along!

Venue: London Welsh Centre (Ed: we need a Scottish Cultural Centre!!!), 157 - 163 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1 (nearest tube: Chancery Lane or King's Cross)

Admission: GBP10 / GBP8 (concessions) / GBP5 (children)

Dress: come as you are - kilts welcome but not required

Website / more information: The Choir meets every Tuesday at 7pm in the hall of Crown Court Church, Russell Street, Covent Garden WC2: new members welcome. See website for details - www.coisirlunnainn.org.uk . The Choir extends a very warm "failte" (welcome) to the members of SIL and looks forward to seeing you on 13th May!

Yours aye, Eddie Tait
