Dear Scots in London,

Scotland's award-winning national dance company, Scottish Ballet returns to Sadler's Wells for the first time since 1999 with their spectacular new retelling of the classic fairytale, Cinderella, choreographed by acclaimed Artistic Director Ashley Page, formerly of the Royal Ballet. This is your chance to see the pride of Scotland storming the London stage!

This is a highly acclaimed performance: "This Cinderella is a tremendous hit and deserves to be seen by everyone, especially those who believe they can't stand ballet. It is showbiz at its best." The Daily Mail*****

Cinderella is the second full-length production Ashley Page has made for the Company since taking over the helm in 2002. Since then, Scottish Ballet has gone from strength to strength, wowing both critics and audiences alike (TMA Award Winners, Herald Angel Award Winners, Critic' Circle National Dance Award nominees, South Bank Show Award nominees).

This highly-original production is a fantastic feast of modern and classical choreography combined with sumptuous designs by designer Antony McDonald as the action shifts to a decedent 'Vivienne Westwood meets Andy Warhol' 18th century France...but with a twist, giving it a fresh and exciting new take on the classic. The Scottish Ballet Orchestra will perform the famous Prokofiev Cinderella score.

What the papers say: "Magnificent, fizzing with choreographic pride and panache - go." The Herald*****; "A riot of clever postmodern ideas...a fun evening." The Times****; "A bright, respectful new classic, with a witty neon twist." The Metro****; "A magnificent production for all ages." The Observer

On Thursday 16 March at 7.30pm, Scottish Ballet will also present an exciting Triple Bill of iconic works from three key choreographers who helped to propel ballet into the 21st century. Featuring George Balanchine's stunning masterpiece Episodes, one of the hits of last year's Edinburgh International Festival, Stephen Petronio's pulsatingly energetic MiddleSexGorge set to a pounding score by art-punks Wire, and William Forsythe's groundbreaking study of precision Suite from Artifact, tailored exclusively for Scottish Ballet. You don't need to be a ballet expert to enjoy this programme, just bring yourself and be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat. This is fearsome dance, brilliantly done.

Scottish Ballet's Cinderella is playing at The Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent (8 to 11 March) and Sadler's Wells, London (14 to 18 March). Spring 06 Season featuring works by George Balanchine, Stephen Petronio and William Forsythe opens at Edinburgh Festival Theatre (30 March to 1 April) and tours to Theatre Royal Glasgow (5 to 8 April).
